Mike Metcalfe

CEO, Ventia

Mike is a highly experienced and respected industry leader responsible for leading Ventia’s combined telecommunications, infrastructure and utilities services business.  He brings to this leadership role more than 26 years of experience in senior executive management positions across infrastructure, telecommunications, services, buildings, and oil and gas. 

Prior to Ventia, Mike was the Deputy Managing Director of Leighton Contractors and Executive General Manager of Leighton Contractors Services. 

With a reputation for delivering diversified and profitable market strategies in support of sustainable business outcomes, Mike is aiming to make Ventia the best telecommunications, infrastructure and utilities services business in the regions in which we operate. 

Richard Kelleway

CEO, Visionstream

Richard has more than 30 years experience in senior management roles and has worked in the UK, Middle East, South East Asia and Australia. Richard’s past 15 years have been spent leading service and recurring revenue businesses in several executive roles. Before joining Thiess Richard spent eight years at Tyco Fire Protection Services, concluding as President & CEO Asia Pacific & the Middle East. He previously held the roles of Tyco’s Managing Director – Australia, New Zealand & Fiji, as well as President and Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Richard is currently the CEO of Visionstream, a $1.6b telecommunications service provider. Prior to moving into this role, Richard held the position of EGM Services for Thiess, for four years.

Richard was recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia as one of Australia’s top 100 influential engineers in 2010/11. He is also a board member of Maroochy Waterwatch Inc.

Peter Handel

GM, Asset and Infrastructure Services

Peter brings extensive and diverse experience in contracting over a thirty-five year career. He has worked in executive roles across a variety of sectors including construction, mining, infrastructure, power generation, utilities and services.

Prior to joining Ventia, Peter was in executive roles at Leighton Contractors including overall responsibility for the New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Western Australia, and New Zealand Construction businesses and the Industrial and Energy Division.

Nan-Maree Schoerie

GM, Utility Services

Nan-Maree has over 20 years’ senior leadership experience, having previously held the role of Vice President for Thermo Fisher’s Australian and New Zealand businesses. 

In 2001 Nan and her family were relocated to Melbourne from South Africa by GE. After a short period in the Australian operations, Nan moved into a regional role as Asia Pacific Corporate Sales Manager for the hydrocarbon processing industry. After two years she returned to the Australian operations to take on the Australian Country Manager role for GE Water.

Nan began her career as an industrial chemist with ICI before moving into technical consulting roles in the industrial water sector. 

Hans Kerkhoven

Chief Financial Officer

Hans has over 25 years’ extensive global finance and commercial leadership experience across a number of industry sectors, companies and geographies.  Hans has held senior finance leadership roles for large and complex businesses in Europe, Asia and Australia, including 16 years with Unilever and a $20 billion division of ArcelorMittal. Hans was also the CFO of OCE NV, a listed company in the Netherlands with $4 billion revenue and 21,000 employees worldwide.

Hans has led major integrations, large scale financial systems implementations and engagement with international financial markets.

He holds a Master degree in Business Economics.

Avanka Vandenberg

GM, Safety Health Environment and Quality

Avanka has extensive experience in senior safety, health and injury management roles with an outstanding commitment to the health and safety of personnel. She has specialised in the areas of rehabilitation, injury prevention, training, safety, health and emergency response.

Her former roles have included implementing and transitioning to new corporate run safety and site based initiatives, facilitating the review of safety and health management system documentation, conducting risk assessments, preparing sites for internal and external audits, reviewing training packages with content experts, proactively managing injuries and implementing both site and community based initiatives.

Prior to joining Ventia as GM, SHEQ, Avanka was the Executive Manager, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality at Thiess Services. She has also held senior management roles within the mining industry at companies such as Xstrata Coal.

Risto Dukovski

Chief Information Officer

Risto is a highly motivated C level leader in IT strategy, business technology transformation, business and technology operations, and solutions delivery. He was appointed Chief Information Officer in March 2015 and provides leadership experience to Ventia through IT enablement focusing on innovation and sustainability.

Risto has over 25 years’ experience in a variety of IT executive and senior management roles with Downer, AAV, Staging Connections, Linfox, Ansett/TNT and Sphere3 Consulting.

He holds a Master of Business & Technology from the Australian School of Business, UNSW.

Rebelle Moriarty

GM, People & Capability

Rebelle brings a strong history of leading change in highly competitive environments across a variety of industries. Focussing on building performance through aligning teams and supporting leaders Rebelle has worked to build environments where individual contribution is highly valued.

Rebelle began her career with BHP, and subsequently held senior HR roles in BlueScope Steel.

Prior to joining Ventia, Rebelle was Head of Human Resources for ASX-listed Coffey International and Alesco Corporation.

Jonathan Dockney

General Counsel

Jonathan is a highly experienced legal advisor to major construction and service provider organisations, developing their work winning strategies, risk mitigation and revenue recovery.

Jonathan has run his own construction legal practice and has worked both in private practice and as an in-house lawyer.

Jonathan holds a BSc Hons in Building and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Jonathan is the Company Secretary of Ventia and its related subsidiaries.

Stuart Hooper

GM, Strategy and Corporate Development

Stuart has 15 years’ experience developing and driving strategic initiatives in a range of industry sectors including Services, Infrastructure, Industrial Products, Retail and Consumer Goods. Stuart has led and delivered numerous corporate development opportunities across the full spectrum of M&A transactions including investments and divestments, IPOs, and integration and transformation programs. 

Prior to joining Ventia, Stuart worked for PwC leading due diligence teams on buy-side and sell-side transactions with large corporate clients and private equity firms.  Stuart brings international experience having worked in New York with leading global private equity firms, including Apollo Global Management, on large and complex buy-outs. 

Stuart is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).

Kerrie Lavey

GM, Brand, Marketing and Communications

A senior executive with more than 20 years’ experience, Kerrie brings to Ventia a strong background working in complex, globally-focussed, ASX-listed enterprises leading strategic communications, marketing, governance, sustainability, M&A communications, brand, reputation and risk management.

Kerrie’s key industry experience includes manufacturing, mining, property and funds management. She has extensive experience managing change and transformation, often in a business turnaround situation or during times of rapid growth.

An experienced director, Kerrie currently sits on the Earthwatch Institute Board and is a member of the IABC Advisory Council (Vic).

Kerrie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Monash University), a Masters of International Business (University of Melbourne) and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
