Road Traffic Information is a key component of the modern Intelligent Transportation System and signaling systems have a significant role to play in optimising traffic efficiency as they allow travelers to navigate safely through the road network and prioritise the direction and coordination of travel at peak times of the day.

Sensor technologies can be deployed to contribute real-time information about traffic occupancy and efficiency that can be used to enhance flow and journey time, allowing large numbers of road users to pass through the road network with minimal delays.

Staying on top of the ebb and flow of traffic coordination requires up-to-minute data and intelligence. Ventia currently programs and monitors all traffic signals in the WA roads network to ensure safe and efficient operation.

By monitoring and centrally controlling vehicle movement through signaling and sensor information we can manage congestion, reinforce speed limits and control safety outcomes, and have a positive effect on the environment, reducing greenhouse emissions by better managing traffic flow to minimise stop/start driving.

At Ventia we can plan, procure, install or upgrade, program, operate, coordinate and test complete traffic signal systems, plus establish back up batteries and protocols for urban and interurban roads, bridges and tunnels.

Signals optimisation is achieved through the SCATS system designed to coordinate and monitor the entire signals network. Using NGEN Adaptive engineering software we can program signals from a Windows' system. The Wintraff PC based platform enables monitoring of signals to ensure performance to design specifications, with all input and output functions operating correctly.

As a key component of any Intelligent Transport System, signaling can be provided as one part of a wider, end-to-end ITS solution or tailored as a unique offer to clients.
