Challenge

Ventia’s bid teams were spending excessive time manually searching past submissions, slowing down proposal development.

Solution

Ventia built Tendia, a generative AI bid assistant developed with DXC and AWS, to deliver fast, tailored first drafts using past successful bids.

Impact

Tendia speeds up bid writing, improves accuracy, and frees up time for strategic input—transforming how Ventia responds to high-value tenders.

At Ventia, we’re always looking for smarter, faster ways to deliver essential services across Australia and New Zealand.

With large-scale tenders often worth hundreds of millions, our bid teams face immense pressure to deliver compelling, tailored responses—fast. That’s why we built Tendia, our generative AI-powered bid assistant.

The Challenge

Preparing complex proposals for government, defence, and enterprise clients meant our teams were spending countless hours manually searching through historical submissions and standards. This slowed down the drafting process and left less time for strategic input and refinement.

We faced major challenges in quickly finding the correct information to prepare a new bid. Much of the required information is already contained in previous winning tenders, but the team had to trawl through documents manually to find it.

The Solution: Meet Tendia

Developed in partnership with DXC Technology and AWS, Tendia is a GenAI solution that uses Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to deliver fast, accurate, and context-specific first drafts. It’s trained on Ventia’s own successful bid history and integrated with our internal systems—so our teams can ask questions and get tailored responses in seconds.

The close collaboration with DXC and AWS was instrumental. We fostered a culture of innovation within our team, confident that we had the backing of state-of-the-art technology and expertise.

The Impact

By embedding AI into our proposal workflows, we’ve unlocked new levels of efficiency and accuracy:

  • Customer-focused delivery: Responses are more customised and aligned to customer needs
  • Strategic advantage: Bid teams gain more time for value-add and strategic input
  • Rapid response generation: First-draft bid responses now take minutes instead of days
  • Smarter information retrieval: Reduced time spent searching across historical submissions
  • Improved accuracy: AI extracts the right information at the right time

Scaling Innovation Across Ventia

Tendia is just the beginning. As we continue to expand its use across business units, we’re also investing in upskilling our people to work alongside AI—amplifying their creativity and critical thinking.
