As a Defence Australia contractor, we often get the opportunity to be called upon for special projects. 

Our Project Management Office was recently contacted to manage a security uplift for Commonwealth personnel. The project was special in that it had to be done very quickly and with minimum interruption to this important customer. 

Additional challenges were faced with the infrastructure, given the office is in a heritage building, which often have much thicker walls and high ceilings. 

However, we believe that there are no jobs that can't be done without applying a bit of innovation and some hard work. As a prime service integrator, we rely not only on what we know, but who we know - and for jobs as important as this we needed to pull together a team of trusted sub-contractors to help us deliver. 

We have long-standing relationships with many of our sub-contractors, and we work successfully together with them because we have similar values and are all committed to delivering service excellence. 

Ventia Project Manager Luke Cairns said the project had many requirements that we had to navigate as a team; acoustic, engineering, heritage, and security. 

'The challenge is what keeps life interesting, and we love that our work feels important,' Luke says."This project will personally be a career highlight." 

It was successful in large part due to the exceptional support from the suppliers and wider project stakeholders.
