One example of this is our collaboration with Emesent and MR Horizon Resources via our drilling and well-servicing business. The collaboration is currently conducting a proof of concept for drone-assisted compliance inspections for the Australian onshore oil and gas industry.

The objective of the trial is to establish if a drone-assisted dropped objects survey of a derrick structure would be a viable alternative to manually executed inspections, whereby one or more inspectors would traditionally have to work at height by means of rope access or otherwise.

The successful outcome of the trial could change the way we conduct at height inspections of rigs and other equipment, improving the safety and efficiency of compliance requirements.
