Traffic controllers face an unacceptably high risk of being injured or killed on the job. A recent 10-year study by Safe Work Australia found that incidents involving traffic controllers were at the top of list of fatalities involving 'workers on foot'.

Portable Traffic Control Devices (PTCD) are a simple tool in keeping both road crews and the public safe, replacing the need for a Traffic Controller to be physically on a road and in the line of fire.

Our Venture Smart Traffic Management Planning team in Western Australia (a joint venture between Johnson Controls - Australia and New Zealand and Ventia) is proactively looking at ways to introduce PTCDs ahead of rule changes across Main Roads WA roads.
