Female extraordinaire, sustainability lover and Transport leader are just a few words to describe Ventia's Natalie Martin.

Natalie is Business Development Manager in our Transport New Zealand business.

Natalie says it's a broad role and no day is the same as she focuses on redefining service excellence for our clients.

"As a BD Manager, engaging with our clients is my number one priority,' she says.

I am always looking for opportunities on how we can enhance the experience for our clients, bring new offerings and connect them with our broad range of capabilities across the full range of infrastructure services that we deliver across New Zealand.

Natalie is also responsible for day-to-day management of the Lyttleton Tunnel Operations and Maintenance Contract as Contract Manager.

"We provide operations and maintenances services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are a really cool group of guys down there and I just make sure everything is running smoothly," says Natalie.

Natalie's career journey at Ventia

Natalie started in the business in 2014 as a Senior Design Engineer on our Waikato Road contract. She has since moved across several roles and recently took the sideways step into the more corporate-side of the business.

When asked what she enjoys most about working at Ventia and in the Transport industry, Natalie says: "I love the people, operations, and problem solving.'

Every day is a new problem to solve, which I enjoy.

A passion for sustainability

Natalie's true passion lies in sustainability. If there are any sustainability initiatives running, she is the first to put her hand up to get involved! Keep an eye out for Ventia's most recent sustainability initiative "Future Fit" coming soon which Natalie has been helping to drive.

She is also passionate about empowering women and leading Ventia's New Zealand Women's networking group

I organise events to help Ventia NZ women meet each other (which has been a bit difficult due to COVID - but we're working on it!).

Thank you, Natalie for your commitment to Ventia, leading and empowering women and promoting sustainability initiatives to improve our business and for the communities in which we operate.
