Our new intake of graduates were joined by Ventia's new Group CEO Dean Banks at their induction this week, as they prepare for their first six-month rotation in our business.
Dean is also new to the business, having joined Ventia at the start of 2021, so he was able to understand the excitement the graduates are experiencing as they begin their journey with Ventia.
Dean noted that attracting the brightest and best brings value to both our people and Ventia.
"Our graduates will be looking for ways to add value and shape our organisation the same way we'll add value and shape their careers," Dean says.
Bringing graduates into the business is so important as it's a reflection of our growth and our longevity.
The three-day induction program helps orient graduates so they can commence their first rotation with confidence.
Group Executive, People & Capability Sam Toppenberg says every year, she's impressed with how keen the graduates are to gain real-world experience. Equally the various project mentors in the business are keen to bring the graduates onboard.
"We are passionate about developing our people and providing them with opportunities to innovate, collaborate and drive value for our business and our communities," Sam says.
The biggest opportunity these graduates have is access. They have access to senior leaders across Ventia, take these opportunities and run with them!
Ten new graduates for 2021 have been assigned to project or functional teams in various locations starting from 27 January. They join the 10 graduates from the 2020 intake who are commencing their final 12-month rotations.
About the Ventia Grad Program
Ventia's Graduate Program and has been successfully placing graduates in the business for the past four years. More than 35 graduates have gained experience working in project and corporate teams across Australia and New Zealand in that time.
The #VentiaGrad program is a two-year program consisting of three rotations over a two-year period, commencing in January each year.
The program provides a training pathway and a mentoring program to help graduates create a holistic understanding of the organisation and enable them to identify the career path of their choice.
