Ventia is committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of the community in which we operate.

Last year Ventia continued to increase employment opportunities for people with disability across our sites in Australia and New Zealand.

To further our goal, Ventia is proud to announce a partnership with the Australian Government's Job Access program over the next 12 months.

Ventia Group Executive People and Capability Charmaine Higgins said the partnership would help the company provide a variety of career opportunities to people with disability in one of the largest essential services providers in Australia and New Zealand.

At Ventia, we focus on people's abilities, rather than disabilities, to ensure they have access to meaningful careers and to help break the cycle of disadvantage

"This time last year we had employed more than 30 people with disability across our NSW Whole of Government schools cleaning contract,' Charmaine said. 'I'm pleased to say that number has rapidly increased to 145 people, but we know we can do better.'

"That's why we're keen to partner with Job Access to tap into their expertise, resources and training, so we can reach our goal of having more people with disability working in our business and continue to provide more diverse and inclusive workplaces."

The Job Access program works with large employers to drive disability employment and build disability confidence in the workplace.

The partnership includes:

  • A recruitment review by a person with disability and advice to improve the process.
  • Disability Awareness Training for employees to ensure new team members are supported and accommodated.
  • Connection to Disability Employment Services and access to a talent pool of people with disability.
  • Assistance with developing workplace policies, practices and strategies to accommodate people with disability.
