Today is "Thank Your Cleaner Day" and we would like to extend a big "Thank you" to the cleaners who work across many of Ventia's 400+ project sites across Australian and New Zealand.
Ventia provides a range of specialist cleaning services to industry, government and commercial businesses. Our expertise extends from daily maintenance cleaning, industrial and accident cleaning to medical facility and COVID-19 response cleaning.
Over the past few years, the central role professional cleaners play in our society has become evident than ever. They ensure safety and hygiene every day and make our offices and workplaces comfortable places to be. They often work outside office hours, and therefore out of sight, so it's important that they are recognised for their essential contributions.
Ventia employs more than 2,000 cleaners across multiple sectors as well as many sub-contracted cleaners. Whether they're cleaning at a school in the western suburbs of Sydney, or a mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, or a historic building in downtown Auckland, our cleaners are focused on delivering service excellence in the work that they do.

On our Defence Base Services contract for Defence Australia our cleaners look after 3,238 buildings on bases all over Australia.
The cleaning teams on the bases are a positive and motivated tight-knit group and they enjoy the camaraderie and diversity that life on the base brings.
Kim, Site Supervisor and Lisa, Cleaners at Simpson Barracks in Victoria say they love working on base because it's a great work environment, and you meet some great people. They also like that they move around a lot and it's a job where you can keep fit.
One of the most important factors of this job is the team's ability to perform the work safely. Cleaners sometimes need to work at height on elevated platforms or after hours to accommodate Australian Defence Forces (ADF) requirements.
Safety is of the upmost importance to me. I am grateful that there is an embedded culture of safety at Ventia and my managers share the same considerations.
"It is also an exciting place to work as you get to see and experience things you would not necessarily get the chance to outside of Tindal,' says Daveena, RAAF Tindal.

Working at one of Australia's largest facilities management companies provides many employment opportunities. Norman Minard a cleaner at RAAF Base East Sale has worked for Ventia for almost 12 years but has been on base since the 90's with different companies. He has worked in Hospitality & Catering and Grounds but likes his role as a cleaner because he enjoys the diversity of the locations that he works and the people he works with.
