Ventia’s Compliance Support team has appointed two workers from Melbourne-based Youth Enterprises Australia (YEA).

YEA is a labour solutions social enterprise supporting young adults who face discrimination and other barriers to employment.

The YEA team will work on VisRES, Ventia’s rigorous subcontractor onboarding and compliance monitoring system that ensures all subcontractors continue to deliver high quality services for our clients.

These two enthusiastic young adults will work on the subcontractor compliance system, during a peak period, to help process and streamline compliance requests.

The Compliance Support team is experiencing a surge in demand for compliance requirements. I’m delighted that these young people through Youth Enterprises Australia, have joined the Support team, says Carol Davey, Team Leader, VisRES Compliance System.

“This ensures we get the help we need and these young people get the experience to help them on their employment journey”.

Ventia currently has several young adults from YEA working on two nbn® projects within the Telecommunications sector.

Patrick, one of the two YEA employees, was quite worried about finding work prior to this opportunity. He had been looking for some time and wasn’t sure he would find a role aligned to his skills or affect his anxiety levels. As a first step in finding employment, he participated in YEA’s Future Focus Employability Skills program and a few weeks later, this opportunity came up.

“I’m really enjoying working in an office-based environment doing validation work with the VisRES team”, says Patrick.

Carol Davey and the team have been very supportive and explained the foundations of the job very well. I am grateful for this opportunity and hope I have the chance to continue on in this role.

Mitch, the second YEA employee is also enjoying being part of the VisRES team. “Carol has been very helpful and I would love to stay on doing this type of work”, he says.
