What happens when you bring almost 100 women together in person and virtually? In the case of our female colleagues in Aotearoa, it involved open and honest conversation, personal growth, the creation of life-long connections, and even some dancing!

Our recent three city in-person and live streamed NZ Women's Networking event connected our wahine (women) based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

With attendance by Dress for Success Auckland and Q&A panel discussions, the event was a powerful, transformative and safe environment where our women learnt, collaborated, and importantly celebrated.

"One of my responsibilities that I get most excited about is leading Ventia's Women's Networking Group in New Zealand," says Laura Stokes, Marketing & Communications Manager Aotearoa New Zealand.

These events provide opportunities for our women to build and strengthen networks with their colleagues.

"And it's safe to say this was our best event yet! The energy in the room was just fantastic, and it was brilliant to see our presenters really open up and gain confidence as the night went on.

"We engaged in korero (conversation), kai (food) and even some kanikani (dancing), keeping us all energised and inspired!"

Melanie Evans, Ventia's Group Executive - Digital Services attended the event with her daughter Kennedy and said it provided an opportunity to reflect on her own career journey.

"Sometimes we create our own personal barriers, and so building confidence in yourself is really important," says Melanie.

Make time for yourself, build your own network and get out there, because you will be supported.
