We are very proud of our Defence team in the Northern Territory who were a finalist in the Top End Business Excellence Awards for 2022 in the category of Excellence in Business in Community Collaboration and Corporate Social Responsibility. 

The team were recognised for the great work supporting the community through our Community Grants program, as well as for the achievements made through focused efforts on Indigenous employment and training. 

Established in 2011, the Ventia community grants program provides funding assistance to support activities or projects that provide lasting community benefits in areas such as community, education and training, health, Indigenous support, safety and youth.  

Project Direct North East Zone Tracy Brathaug says that it's not just about formal programs at Ventia either. 

"We have 15,000+ passionate people across Australia and New Zealand who choose to support community initiatives personally as well as through the workplace," she says.

When it comes to supporting our local communities, it is our people who make the difference.
