The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) Emerging Indigenous Executive Leaders Program (EIELP) - has won a global award for talent development.

The 2020 Silver "Excellence in Practice" Award is from the European Federation of Management Development (EFMD), and recognises outstanding and impactful learning and development partnerships from around the world.

EIELP was developed by AGSM, in collaboration with Reconciliation Australia and the Elevate RAP Working Group, including Broadspectrum, National Australia Bank, Richmond Football Club, Crown, Australian Football League, Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, and Services Australia.

The nine-month program aims to cultivate the next generation of senior Indigenous business leaders who will have an influential role in shaping the future of, not only Indigenous Australia, but Australia. Participants are mentored by senior executive leaders, while focusing on strategic thinking, leadership and identity, innovation, personal effectiveness and communicating with influence.

More than 65 Indigenous emerging leaders have completed EIELP since it was launched in 2017, including Broadspectrum's Indigenous Development Manager Llewellyn Williams. The current program has 31 participants. Analysis shows most participants have progressed their careers, increased their well-being and capabilities, and positively impacted their organisations since completing the program.

Llewellyn Williams, said, "As an inaugural participant in the program, Broadspectrum has demonstrated to me, and the broader Indigenous community that it is serious about the developing Indigenous Australian talent. By supporting EIELP, Broadspectrum is demonstrating its commitment to our Elevate RAP status, and its willingness to go beyond the norm and innovate reconciliation through programs like the EIELP."
