Improving reliability of Goulburn Valley Water’s assets

Ventia’s Asset Management team were recently awarded a two-year contract with Goulburn Valley Water

Ventia’s Asset Management team were recently awarded a two-year contract with Goulburn Valley Water to improve the reliability of their pump and motor assets. 

The Pump Inspection Program (PIP) aims to make improvements through early detection and identification of performance issues. This will be achieved through regular condition monitoring and associated tasks on nominated pumps, along with the performance of maintenance works. 

Goulburn Valley Water provides water and wastewater services to a population of 128,000 in 54 towns, extending from the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north. The region covers approximately 20,000 square kilometers. 

Ventia’s Asset Optimisation Manager, and project manager for this contract, Eduardo Agnoletti says Ventia’s ability to utilise one technician to perform both electrical and mechanical condition monitoring inspections was key to winning this contract. 

 

Meet Andrew Evans 

Andrew Evans is Ventia’s condition monitoring specialist for this contract and brings with him 18 years’ experience across a broad range of mechanical and electrical assets.

Andrew is passionate about improving equipment reliability utilising predictive, precision, and proactive maintenance strategies. This will provide benefits to the client, including: 

  • the lowering of maintenance costs 
  • improving scheduling / labour efficiency
  • maximising production output
  • increasing lifespan of assets
  • prioritising maintenance tasks, and 
  • meeting license and contractual KPI's. 

“Ultimately, the client will be able to better plan their forward maintenance schedule as they will have the data to support how frequently maintenance is required and the cost of maintaining each asset,” Andrew explains.
