Our joint venture with Jaydo has been awarded the contract to build Yarra Valley Water's nine-kilometre Lockerbie Main Sewer (LMS) pipeline which runs next to the Melbourne to Sydney rail line and connects into the Amaroo Main Sewer at Donnybrook. The pipeline will incorporate 12 branch sewer connections to service future developments.

The LMS is the next major stage of the $400m investment in water and sewerage infrastructure made to service the growing population in Melbourne's Northern Growth Corridor. The Lockerbie Main Sewer is the outlet for all developments within the Urban Growth boundary north of the end of the Amaroo Main Sewer which was completed in 2017.

Richard Kelleway, Ventia's Group Executive Infrastructure Services said: 'We are thrilled to be supporting Yarra Valley Water with this project, which is crucial to helping the local community deal with the challenges of population growth in the area.

We have delivered a number of pipeline projects in Australia and New Zealand in recent years, and alongside our joint venture partner Jaydo, who are experts in open cut trenching, we are committed to delivering this new project to the highest quality.

Construction of the LMS is scheduled to start in early 2020 and the project is expected to be completed and operational in 2021.

Jaydo is a family-owned business that has been delivering significant water and sewer infrastructure projects across Victoria since 1968.
