Monday 30 April marks the beginning of National Road Safety Week, an annual initiative from the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, to create awareness of the negative impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it.

To show our support for National Road Safety Week, we're encouraging our Australian transport teams to 'take a break' and reflect on the importance of safety on the roads, at work and at home.

As one of the largest providers of motorway and tunnel operations and maintenance services in Australasia, we prioritise the safety of our people, our clients and their customers in all that we do.

One of the ways we deliver safe services is via our Incident Response teams across our transport contracts. They are the first on the scene for unplanned traffic incidents and work with the relevant emergency services and government agencies to minimise disruption and maximise safety.

As part of this year's National Road Safety Week theme, 'Drive so others survive', drivers are asked to not only consider their own safety while on the roads, but also that of the incident response teams who are out there every day, responding to serious incidents on the roads.

The SARAH Group began five years ago as an initiative of its President Peter Frazer, who lost his daughter when she, and the tow truck driver assisting her with her broken down car in the emergency lane, were side-swiped by a truck and killed instantly.
