City of Sydney

The City of Sydney (the City) has awarded Ventia the contract to deliver facilities management services across Sydney's CBD from late April 2018.

Under the initial four-year contract, Ventia will be responsible for the management and delivery of all hard and soft facilities management services, including maintenance and cleaning, for the City's portfolio of 251 facility assets. This contract is one of the largest and most prestigious local government facilities management contracts in Australia and New Zealand.

The portfolio includes the City's range of community facilities such as community centres, libraries, leisure facilities, depots and public toilets, as well as its commercial buildings. Iconic buildings such as the Sydney Town Hall, Customs House and the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, as well as more than 100 public art installations, are also part of the contract.

Additionally, the Ventia team will work collaboratively with the City to implement a new Management Information System to enable its requirements for asset, property and utilities to be managed on a single IT platform.

Servicing a delivery area of 26.15km2, a residential population of 224,211 and approximately 615,000 visitors daily, we will draw on our strong Sydney resource base and supply chain to support the City's vision for Sydney to be 'Green, Global and Connected'.

Ventia's Executive General Manager Asset and Infrastructure Services Peter Handel said this contract is evidence that Ventia's vision, 'to lead the way in infrastructure services by harnessing the power of technology', is consistent with our clients' needs.

"The contract's combination of facilities management and information technology services allows us to provide the City with access to technology that will improve overall operational efficiency and service to Sydney's CBD community," Peter said.

We are committed to maintaining the City's facility assets, in compliance with its requirements, day and night and we value the City's confidence in our business to deliver these services to its local community.

"The award of this contract enhances our growing portfolio of local government clients in Australia and New Zealand, including Frankston City and Auckland Councils, and allows us to consolidate and expand our self-perform capability to add further value back to our clients."

The mobilisation team is on the ground in Sydney's CBD, working closely with the City and the surrounding community, to make sure Ventia transitions smoothly from 6 May 2018.
