In addition to providing full facilities maintenance services to Council's buildings and open spaces, commencing April 2019, Ventia began undertaking a significant range of additional streetscape services.

These services include town centre cleaning, litter collection, street furniture maintenance, litter bin emptying, berm mowing and vegetation control.

Ventia's Executive General Manager Infrastructure Services, Gordon Taylor, said that this additional ownership of service delivery is further evidence of the company's capabilities in local government facilities management.

"We have been working closely with Auckland Council for almost two years now. Ventia's management of these additional services will help standardise service delivery across Auckland as we deliver a high level of service and a culture of continuous improvements.

'Our ability to self-deliver a large portion of the works involved in this contract is also key to ensuring accountability and cost benefits for the client."

Some of the services to additional assets commenced on 1 April (berm mowing and vegetation control). The remaining services (town centre cleaning, litter collection, street furniture maintenance, bus shelter cleaning, litter bin emptying) started 1 July.

The local board areas of Howick, Maungakiekie-Tāmaki, ÅŒrākei, Waitemata, Devonport-Takapuna, Hibiscus & Bays, Kaipātiki and Upper Harbour will be covered under this contract.
