Hard on the heels of Australia’s record sixth men’s ODI World Cup win, another team of cricketing legends have smashed it into the stands, raising more than $40,000 for the McGrath Foundation.

The money raised by Ventia’s Pink Stumps Day last Wednesday, 22 November, makes us the Number 1 contributor to a Pink Stumps Day event so far this year.

The day was a colourful affair attended by more than 250 enthusiastic employees, clients and suppliers who, despite rainy conditions, donned pink attire and had a blast raising awareness and funds for more breast care nurses across Australia.

Breast cancer affects millions of lives worldwide, with approximately 2.3 million people diagnosed each year. In Australia and New Zealand, it is the most diagnosed cancer in women.

Thank you to our incredible sponsors and donors who supported the event.

The Fair Pinkum Aussie Raffle – featuring amazing lifestyle prizes like a $15,000 fully equipped fishing dinghy – drew heaps of support. Find out if you scored anything here.

The driving force behind the event, Prue Fellowes, said she was proud of how Ventia teams from across the nation got behind the campaign.

“I have a very deep and personal appreciation of Ventia’s support of McGrath Foundation,” Prue said.

“My Mum succumbed to breast cancer after a long battle this year, so I can attest first-hand to the life-changing support McGrath Foundation nurses provide.

“McGrath Foundation’s specialised breast care nurses play a vital role in providing physical, emotional, and psychological support to patients – no matter where they live or their financial situation – during their challenging journey.

Donations from events like Pink Stumps are critical to being able to offer this amazing service.

Attendees were all smiles on the day raising much-needed funds and awareness for breast cancer support.

Ventia is a model for how organisations can support social causes like the McGrath Foundation that align with their activities and contribute significantly to the well-being of communities and play a pivotal role in creating positive societal change.

“Pink Stumps was also a terrific way for us to connect socially with clients, suppliers, and colleagues and underline Ventia’s strong community commitment.

“And we couldn’t have achieved this amazing result without the support of our gold sponsors Blackbook ai and PromoGear and our silver sponsor Oil Baron Supply, along with the many other contributors towards merchandise and raffle prizes.”

Ventia clients, suppliers and employees can still make a fully tax-deductible donation to the McGrath Foundation.
