Healthscope has awarded Ventia the facility maintenance contract for the Northern Beaches Hospital to support its delivery of quality healthcare for patients.
Ventia will deliver the hospital's hard facilities services including asset and utilities maintenance, and gardening and landscape management as a 24/7 support service.
The nine-storey Northern Beaches Hospital will comprise 488 beds, a 50-space emergency department, 14 operating theatres, four procedure rooms, intensive care services, a modern inpatient mental health facility, helipad and 1,400 space car park.
Ventia CEO Michael Metcalfe said it's the investment in the long-term relationship with the client and the contract where Ventia brings value.
"We work to get to know our clients, understand their needs and priorities, and then bring solutions to life for them.
Being awarded the contract for the Northern Beaches Hospital is a real game changer for Ventia and our future growth in the Australian and New Zealand healthcare sectors.
Healthscope Manager Major Developments Peter Shepheard said the company valued Ventia's commitment to work with them on this contract.
"Ventia has ensured we now have a tailored facilities maintenance solution that meets our needs for the hospital's long-term operation."
We are now preparing to mobilise from November 2017 in time for the new hospital to open its doors in October 2018.
