Ventia has signed an agreement with the Ākina Foundation.
Ä€kina is New Zealand's leading impact development organisation and the government's strategic partner in the development of a thriving social enterprise sector.
As part of the agreement, Ākina will provide Ventia with support, training and advice, and facilitate engagement with certified social enterprises in New Zealand.
Ventia's EGM of Procurement, Kevin McCafferty, said, "Working with Ākina will allow our New Zealand contracts to better support their local communities and businesses by engaging with social enterprises.
This is an exciting partnership that will give our contracts an increased knowledge of local culture, environment and products.'
Engaging with social enterprise results in positive impacts for our community and businesses. Social enterprises focus on the needs of a community through small business development, an increased skill footprint in the region and local employment.
Ventia, through its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, is committed to delivering positive change for our people, our communities and our environment.
