Across Western Sydney and the Hunter Central coast regions, around 1750 Ventia cleaners are delivering essential services for schools, TAFE facilities, police and ambulance sites and other government facilities every day.

We are pleased to extend our two Whole of Government Cleaning contracts with NSW Public Works (PWA) for an additional year, with the contracts running through to 31 December 2024.

General Manager Housing & Community Angela Williams says the 18-year relationship with PWA has been successful because of the commitment of our workforce and our focus on delivering value for money services to our clients.

"Since we commenced services for PWA in January 2006, we've expanded our services to our current scope servicing approximately 950 sites daily," Angela says.

The last few years in particular have seen our cleaners delivering critical support to schools and TAFEs, ensuring they were able to stay open during COVID to continue delivering student learning.

As an employee of Ventia since August 2022, Claire Nakat has been entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at Winston Hills Public School.

With a commitment to a diverse workforce on the contracts, notably in the space of disability employment for which we won the 2022 Banksia Award for Diversity and Inclusion, Angela says these contracts are a great example of how people are at the heart of all that we do at Ventia.

These contracts offer flexibility to our workforce, and that is appealing to a lot of our employees who want to work around caring responsibilities or studies, for example,

"We can also offer our cleaners career advancement into one of the other roles we have across our organisation."  Angela says.

Aleisha Manton, diligent cleaner at Maroota Public School, has been with Ventia since August 2023. She ensures a clean and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Ventia commenced services for the Hunter Central Coast region in January 2006 and the Western Sydney region in July 2011. The contract encompasses facilities for Department of Education, TAFE NSW, NSW Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Service NSW, Health NSW, Communities & Justice, Housing NSW, Department of Parliamentary Services, State Emergency Service, Transport NSW, Department of Planning & Environment, and the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
