Throughout the recent 2021 fire season and COVID-19 lockdowns, our team on the Mornington Peninsula Shire contract was tasked with managing bushfire risk to the shire's communities.
Encompassing 192km of Victoria's coastline, the Mornington Peninsula Shire is home to over 180,000 residents and is a popular holiday destination. Ventia maintains the shire's open spaces, parklands and buildings, preserving the unique landscape of the area for future generations. Our services span across asset management, bushfire, tree and vegetation management and facilities management.
As the fire danger period ended, our client sent through positive recognition noting the dedication and hard work of team members who went above and beyond for our client and communities.
"Thank you for the fantastic work done on fire reduction over the past year," said Simon Thorning, Team Leader for Natural Systems at the Mornington Peninsula Shire.
Championing our commitment to putting safety and health above all else, he added, "We are grateful at how committed and careful everyone was".
Leonard Leyland, Ventia Project Manager for the Mornington Peninsula Shire praised the work of the bushfire management team:
"Team leader Jarvis Toomey has done a great job liaising closely with the client, along with other key team members. The success of that communication can be seen in the outcomes."
Thank you and well done to Jarvis Toomey and his team.
