We're proud to have received the Engineering Heritage Australia - Colin Crisp Award for restoring the heritage-listed 'Southern Gasholder' during the Macdonaldtown Gasworks Remediation Project.
The award recognises excellence in engineering conservation including:
- recording heritage significance
- engineering accomplishment
- use of technology, and
- education and raising awareness of engineering heritage.
Working closely with our client and co-winner Sydney Trains we excavated, removed and treated contaminated material. All the while preserving the heritage value of the former gasworks and improving the biodiversity of the site through revegetation with local native species.
Well done to all those involved who helped make this project a success.
