Ventia was once again proud to sponsor of the annual RACQ LifeFlight Gala ball - held in May in Toowoomba - helping almost 650 attendees raise more than $740,000.

This is the third time we've sponsored the event as Ventia; the Ball raises essential funding allowing RACQ LifeFlight Rescue to provide vital aeromedical and critical care services to people in need across south-east Queensland.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue saves lives every day. Last year, across the Darling Downs in Southern Queensland alone, they helped 659 people, a service that costs $16.5 million to provide.

Public donations cover nearly a third of their operational costs, the remainder being provided by the Queensland Government.
 

A lifeline for people working in remote locations

General Manager Rig and Well Services Kyle Koziol said LifeFlight was a lifeline for people working in remote locations, including those in the energy, telecommunications and transport sectors.

Our people work in some of the most remote environments and take great comfort in knowing that if there's a medical emergency, they can be there within minutes.

"Sponsoring this event is just another way Ventia puts safety first and at the same time contributes back to the industries and communities with which we partner," Kyle said.

"They help people anywhere, anytime."
 

Contributions help continue essential service delivery

LifeFlight Australia chair The Hon. Rob Borbidge AO said the charity was grateful for the support of the community, including contributions from Ventia and others which operate in regional Queensland.

"They help us continue providing this essential service," Mr Borbidge said.

"Toowoomba is our busiest base, completing more than 650 missions last year."

The gala ball featured delicious food, live entertainment, and a silent auction. 

Guests were able to meet the crew and learn more about their important work.
