Our energy networks team has signed an extension to its contract with Transpower New Zealand Limited (Transpower) to operate, maintain and provide specialist electrical services across New Zealand’s national electricity grid.

The two-year extension was built into the Transmission Grid Services contract and Contestable Work Panels that commenced in 2022. It is expected to generate approximately NZ$160 million in revenue for Ventia. The extension will commence in 2027 through to 2029 and will see Ventia continue to operate across two separate regions, encompassing the North and South Islands.

We are pleased to be extending our partnership and look forward to continuing to grow our relationship and delivering the critical services that support New Zealand’s energy future.

Ventia has delivered specialist electrical services to Transpower for more than 30 years and today service around one-third of Transpower’s network reflecting a commitment to customer satisfaction and ongoing innovation.

“Our long-standing relationship with Transpower has been underpinned by consistent performance, collaboration and a shared focus on delivering safe and reliable energy infrastructure. We are pleased to be extending our partnership and look forward to continuing to grow our relationship and delivering the critical services that support New Zealand’s energy future,” said Dean Banks, Managing Director and Group CEO.
