This week marks a significant achievement for Ventia, as we are recognised in the Top 20 Inspiring Workplaces across Australasia and runner-up in the Enterprise category at the Inspiring Workplaces Awards.

These globally recognised awards celebrate organisations that put their people first.

Jodie Blake, Group Executive People, Safety and Sustainability shared, “People are at the heart of our success, and we’re incredibly proud to be recognised in this way. This award reflects the strength of our teams, the culture we’re building, and the partnerships that help us go further together.”

The Inspiring Workplaces Awards recognise organisations leading the way across culture, leadership, wellbeing, inclusion and employee experience, reinforcing the importance of building environments where people feel supported, connected and able to thrive.

At Ventia, our purpose, to make infrastructure work for our communities and shapes how we lead, how we work, and how our people experience the organisation every day. Across our 35,000+ people in Australia and New Zealand, our teams operate and maintain essential infrastructure that communities rely on to stay safe, connected and resilient.

Our culture is built in real-world environments, from frontline operations to regional communities, where our people take pride in delivering work that makes a genuine difference.

The judges’ comments reflect this, noting: “You have clearly invested well and worked tirelessly to create a great culture.”

In recent years, Ventia has strengthened its focus on leadership, inclusion and wellbeing through a range of initiatives designed to support our people at every stage of their career.

  • In 2025, we introduced our Leadership Edge Framework, creating a shared and consistent approach to leadership across the organisation.
  • More than 550 leaders have been supported through development programs via the Ventia Academy.
  • Our Healthy Minds and Healthy Bodies programs, including a network of over 190 trained Healthy Minds Champions, provide ongoing wellbeing support across our workforce.

These initiatives are helping create an environment where people feel safe, supported and empowered to do their best work.

As Jodie Blake reflected “We’re focused on creating an environment where our people feel supported to grow, contribute and perform at their best, no matter where they work across the business.”

Employee feedback continues to reinforce the impact of this approach. In our 2025 Have Your Say engagement survey, employees highlighted a strong connection to Ventia’s values and culture, demonstrating the importance of purpose-led leadership and meaningful work.

“Our people see the impact of what they do every day - whether it's keeping communities connected or restoring essential services. That connection to purpose is what makes Ventia such a strong place to build a career.”

This recognition builds on Ventia’s broader commitment to creating a workplace where people feel respected, included and able to grow. Through our Fairness, Inclusion and Respect strategy, employee networks, and continued investment in leadership and capability, we are strengthening a culture where everyone belongs.

Being recognised as an Inspiring Workplace is not a destination, but a reflection of the progress we are making together.
