Danseys pass - New Zealand

Ventia has today signed a contract with Transpower New Zealand Limited (Transpower) to operate, maintain and provide specialist electrical and telecommunication services to New Zealand's national electricity grid.

In a continuation of more than 25 years' service to Transpower, Ventia will operate under a Transmission Grid Services contract and membership of the Contestable Work Panels. The initial five-year contract is expected to generate approximately NZ$300 million in revenue for Ventia.

Commencing in August 2022, the base contract is for a five-year term with further extension options of up to five years.

Ventia will operate across two separate regions, encompassing the lower North Island and upper South Island, and have opportunity to provide Capital Projects across all regions as part of panel agreements.

Ventia Group CEO Dean Banks said Ventia is one of the largest essential services providers in New Zealand and Australia, and a trusted partner to some of the region's largest owners and operators of energy, telecommunications and other essential infrastructure.

"Ventia is delighted to continue our long-term partnership with Transpower, providing highly skilled and specialist services to meet the current and future needs of New Zealand's electricity grid.

This contract renewal is testament to our commitment to redefine service excellence and to provide Transpower and communities in New Zealand with innovative and sustainable solutions. We look forward to our role in enabling Transpower's strategy towards a renewable, electrified, low-carbon economy.

Transpower is New Zealand's high voltage transmission network owner and operator; a state-owned enterprise responsible for the country's electric power transmission.
