At Ventia, we are committed to creating a fair, inclusive and respectful workplace where our people are empowered to thrive.

We’re proud to share that two of our team members have been recognised at the 2025 National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Excellence Awards, held recently in Auckland.

The annual NAWIC Awards celebrate the achievements of women across Aotearoa who are making a difference in the construction industry. This year’s event brought together hundreds of professionals to acknowledge the leadership, skill and dedication of wāhine across a wide range of roles.

Recognising leadership and operational excellence

Larissa Hamer, a Project Manager in our Energy sector, was named a finalist in the Excellence in Leadership category. Larissa has demonstrated outstanding capability in site operational management, leading complex projects with a strong focus on safety, collaboration and delivery.

Nat Walker, a Grader Driver, received a Highly Commended award in the Excellence in Plant Operation category. Nat is known for her precision, professionalism and commitment to quality and ensuring everyone is safe on their journey.

“These awards are a powerful reminder of the impact our people have in making infrastructure work for communities across New Zealand,” said Damian Pedreschi, Executive General Manager NZ.

We’re incredibly proud to see Larissa and Nat acknowledged for their contributions.

Supporting diversity in the infrastructure industry

Ventia is proud to support initiatives that promote gender equity and celebrate the achievements of women in traditionally male-dominated industries. Events like the NAWIC Awards play an important role in recognising the value of diverse perspectives and encouraging more women to pursue careers in infrastructure.

We thank the National Association of Women in Construction for hosting an inspiring evening and congratulate all the finalists and winners for their achievements.
