Ventia's widely acknowledged leadership in sustainability has been recognised with a prestigious award from the property industry. 

The 2023 REaward for Sustainability and Wellness Leadership was bestowed by CoreNet, a global organisation dedicated to supporting innovation, transformation and advancement in the real estate industry. 

It was presented to Director - Sustainability Emma Wright at the recent CoreNet Australia annual conference in Sydney, whose theme this year was 'Building a Sustainable Future.' 

Emma recently presented at CoreNet's recent Government Forum on Net Zero held in the nation's capital.

Solar upgrade completed at well-known Parramatta building

Over recent years, she and her expert sustainability team have developed and delivered a number of transformative property-based sustainability projects in urban areas. 

This includes transforming the roof of one of Parramatta's best-known buildings - the Commonwealth Law Courts - into an urban solar farm without compromising the iconic building's amenity. 

This solution will reduce carbon emissions from this energy-intensive building by 90 tonnes per year and save the Federal Government an estimated $130,000 in electricity costs over the next decade.

A commitment to Net Zero 2030

Projects like these are critical to the Federal Government's achievement of its Australian Public Service Net Zero 2030 commitment. 

This week, Emma also shared her learnings with members of the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA) at its Ideation 23 annual conference on the Gold Coast.
