Frequently asked questions
Who can apply?
We’re always looking for the brightest and best, and we’d love to hear from interested individuals. Our vacancies are not intended for recruitment agencies and we do not accept responsibility for fees related to unsolicited applications from suppliers representing individuals.
How do I apply for a position with Ventia?
The best way is to apply for a position already advertised.
You can search our jobs on our careers page either with a key word, or choosing locations, fields of employment and employment type by using the fields at the top of the page.
When you find a position you are interested in, make sure you’ve viewed the full advertisement, and understand all key requirements of the position, before you apply.
All applications are managed via our confidential, online recruitment platform and are not accepted via email.
I have applied for a position, what happens now?
We will send you an automated response via email confirming receipt of your application.
The standard selection process for most roles is:
- If your skills match the job requirements, the recruiter will call you for a phone interview
- If you’re successful in this phone interview, your resumé will be shortlisted and given to the hiring manager, who is the person to whom the role reports
- From the shortlist review, you may be invited for an interview, which may be face to face or using technology where it makes more sense
Selection for some roles may also include:
- Online application
- Telephone interview
- Additional interview(s) (behavioural)
- Right to work checks
- Pre-employment checks, including medical and police checks (for some positions)
If you want to know the status of your application, contact our Recruitment Team via email@example.com
Do I need to be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident to apply for a position?
To be employed in Australia or New Zealand you are legally required to have what is referred to as "right to work". To have a right to work you may be a citizen, a Permanent Resident or a visa holder that enables employment.
Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
That would be great! Just make sure each position you apply for matches your experience. We’ll consider you against each job you apply for.
How do I get an update on a position that I have applied for?
Some roles advertised will have the recruiter’s contact details included so you can contact them directly.
Otherwise, you are welcome to contact our Recruitment team via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is my application confidential?
The information you provide is only used for employment purposes. Your details will be treated confidentially in accordance with our Privacy Statement.
How do I delete my record?
If you no longer want to store your details on our recruitment database, please contact us at email@example.com and we will update our records.
Does Ventia offer opportunities for graduates?
Ventia offers graduate level positions across all our locations. These are real roles, with real accountability and growth. They are advertised throughout the year, rather than in an annual intake. We recommend you subscribe to our Job Alerts to ensure you don’t miss out on hearing about positions with us that match your experience and ambition.
I do not see a position I am interested in. What should I do?
If there are no current vacancies matching your criteria, you can register for Job Alerts. This is an automated system which emails you jobs based on your search criteria. From there, it’s an easy click to view more information about a job and apply.
Due to the volume of applications we receive, we do not accept resumés directly.
What document formats will the recruitment system accept?
Our recruitment system will accept .doc, .docx, .txt. .rtf and .pdf documents.
What is the largest file size the system will accept?
The system will accept documents up to 5MB.
