With increasing pressure on Emergency Services Organisations to deliver more efficient and effective services, Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) sought a partner to deliver a more integrated and reliable network for Victoria's first responders.

Ventia partnered with EMV, under a full turnkey arrangement, to deliver the Emergency Alerting System (EAS), a dedicated alerting system used to alert and simultaneously mobilise resources from multiple Emergency Services Organisations (ESOs) such as Ambulance Victoria, the Country Fire Authority, the Victorian State Emergency Service, and Fire & Rescure Victoria.

The EAS is a sophisticated emergency services telecommunications network - purpose-built and fully redundant for high-availability. It utilises satellite communications, LTE and optical fibre links to connect the 231 wireless base stations to fully duplicated and geographically-diverse cores.

Ventia designed, constructed, and installed the mission critical EAS network, and performs ongoing operations and maintenance services to ensure the network for use by Victoria's ESOs. EAS has the greatest wireless coverage of all the Emergency Services Communications Networks across Victoria.
