Ventia provided greenfield construction, procurement, pre-commissioning, and commissioning services for two gas processing facilities near Dalby, Queensland.

The facilities are part of Arrow's Surat Gas Project (SGP), one of the largest gas developments on Australia's east coast, with hundreds of coal seam gas wells to be developed in its first phase.

The projects support Arrow to use capacity of existing QGC-operated infrastructure to reduce its impacts on landholders and communities.

The David IPF was part of the Phase 1 scope of Arrow's SGP. The facility will remove water and other impurities from coal seam gas produced in the area enabling Arrow to supply gas into QGC's David Field Compression Station.

Throughout the project, Ventia was the principal contractor delivering project management, procurement, civil, piling & earthworks, structural, mechanical, piping, HDPE Pipeline, Electrical & Instrumentation, testing and commissioning services.

Our team hard at work on the Surat Gas Project

Venita's Executive General Manager for Resources & Industrial Services, Simon Lafferty said the projects were supported by our established supplier relationships and already strong operational footprint in the Surat Basin.

"We provide services for many of the region's major energy projects including drilling and well servicing operations for multiple natural gas development projects, and operations and maintenance services for the Millmerran Power Station."

For these projects, we continued to work closely with local suppliers and subcontractors in the region, spending more than $6 million with businesses to deliver these facilities for Arrow, investing in the sustainability of the regional economy.

Arrow CEO Cecile Wake said about 180 Arrow staff, contractors and sub-contractors worked on the Harry IPF project, many living locally or based in the area.

"With the wet weather of the past 12 months, completing construction of the Harry processing facility ahead of schedule is a great reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved," Ms Wake said.

"The Harry IPF follows the David IPF, which came online last year, and together these facilities show how the momentum of the Surat Gas Project is building.

Construction of the facilities is a great example of how large-scale projects can create jobs and deliver financial benefits for local businesses and the broader community.
