Description
Ventia is delivering the road maintenance and renewals (M&R) of the central and southern areas of Whangarei, covering a road network length of 802km. The contract involves network management and capitalised renewals, with some capital minor improvement works, and adopts a ‘fence-to-fence’ approach involving most of the M&R aspects, including reseals.
Works provided include:
- Sealed Pavements: Resurfacing, Pavement Maintenance
- Unsealed Pavements: Unsealed Rehabilitations, Grading & Drainage on unsealed roads
- Drainage
- Signs
- Traffic Facilities
- Traffic Delineation: Linemarking, RRPMs
- Paths: Footpaths, Offroad cycleways, Offroad paths and walkways
- Structures
- Street Furniture
- Street Sweeping
- Vegetation Control
- Emergency Works and Call-out
As well as:
- Minor Capital Improvement Works
- Minor bridge (non-structural) and drainage replacements
- New footpath & cycleway construction
- Minor safety works
- Preventative maintenance (retaining walls)
The contract was awarded in April 2025 for the three-year initial contract with two three-year options to extend.
