Ventia telco workers performing nbn installation at Sydney Harbor Bridge

As an nbn delivery partner, Ventia is proud to announce that our work on the national fibre upgrades will contribute to approximately 1,000 new job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas across Australia over the next 2.5 years.

As part of our long-standing partnership with NBN Co and nbn's® national infrastructure upgrade, Ventia has the opportunity to employ, develop and grow businesses and individuals for new roles in QLD, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.

Individuals and construction businesses interested in working directly with Ventia as an nbn delivery partner would be involved in new civil works covering approximately 7,000 km to help roll out more than 65,000 km of optical fibre across Australia, nearly one-and-half times the circumference of the Earth.

Multi-billion dollar investment

The Australian Government's $2.4 billion investment in the enhancement of the nbn® network will enable full-fibre access to 3.5 million eligible1 premises currently served by Fibre to the Node (FTTN) and up to 1.5 million eligible1 premises served by Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) by the end of 2025. Those premises will be able to access the fastest residential and most reliable technology available through the nbn® network.

Specialised roles needed for the network upgrades

A range of specialisations continue to be needed as part of the network upgrades, including drill operators, rod rope haulers, pit and pipe installations, ACM removalists, fibre haulers and splicers and more.

"We are proud of our strong relationship with NBN Co and have been instrumental in the delivery of the initial nbn® build program and the subsequent maintenance of the nbn® network over the past decade", said Mark Ralston, Ventia's Group Executive - Telecommunications.

As we work with NBN Co to extend fibre deeper into communities across Australia, we are also creating meaningful work opportunities for individuals and businesses across the country.

Expressions of interest from individuals and businesses across the nation

Dion Ljubanovic, NBN Co Executive General Manager - Build, said: "With ongoing construction activities bringing fibre deeper to more than 800 suburbs across Australia right now, delivery partners continue to take expressions of interest from individuals and businesses across the nation as further communities are added to the upgrade program.

The work is ideal for seasoned professionals, those wanting to return to the field, school leavers and people looking to learn new skills that will help set them up for a rewarding career in telecommunications and infrastructure development.
