We are really proud to confirm the re-accreditation of our Rainbow Tick in New Zealand. This “Tick” recognises the work being done to ensure everyone at Ventia feels included.

On behalf of our Rainbow Community of Practice, we’re also excited to announce two new LGBTQ+ standards connected to the Ventia Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

You are leading the way, this is groundbreaking stuff - Wikitoria Gillard, Rainbow Tick New Zealand Accreditation Manager

The Rainbow Community of Practice is co-chaired by Acacia Cochise and Taylor Cougle. Guided by representatives from Rainbow Tick NZ, Acacia Cochise, Community Engagement and Procurement Manager drafted the initial standards and worked with Loes Westerbeek-Veld, Social Sustainability Manager and Taylor Cougle, Solution Assurance Manager co-chair of the Rainbow Community of Practice to craft them.

The Gender Diversity and Gender Affirmation Standards recognise the needs of our diverse workforce and celebrate and support our Rainbow Community.

Ventia is certified with the Rainbow Tick until 11 December 2024.

Policies on gender diversity and gender affirmation are crucial in corporate settings for fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. Embracing diversity promotes a breadth of perspectives, experiences, and talents, enhancing creativity and problem-solving. Recognising and supporting gender affirmation not only reflects a commitment to human rights but also contributes to employee well-being and morale.

Inclusive policies create a sense of belonging, which, in turn, improves productivity and employee retention.

Ventia is all about championing gender diversity and affirmation and it’s amazing to see what comes of cross-sector collaboration underpinned by the values of diversity and inclusion. Watch this space in 2024 for more developments!
